The Big Picture: Glastonbury Festival 2011
Glastonbury, a festival held at Worthy Farm in England, has become Europe’s largest such gathering for music fans. Its five-day run ended Sunday, after entertaining nearly 175,000 fans. Heavy rain and mud greeted the attendees, who paid 195 pounds (about $310) for a basic ticket compared to the 1 pound when the show began in 1970. The next festival will take place in 2013.

Come si conviene al clima inglese e a questo tipo di eventi la pioggia lo ha trasformato im 5 giorni di amore, musica e fango.
Ma i fan non si sono persi d’animo e hanno pagato le 195 sterline (circa 217€) del biglietto base per vedere tra gli altri U2, Coldplay, Beyonce, Pulp, Biffy Clyro, Morrissey, Metronomy, Elbow, Paolo Nutini, Tinie Tempah, Laura Marling, Pendulum, Plan B, Primal Scream, Mumford & Sons, The Chemical Brothers, Jimmy Eat World, The Kills, Queens of the Stone Age, Kaiser Chiefs, Bombay Bicycle Club, Radiohead, Battles etc.
Interessante il fatto che la prima edizione, del 1970, costava solo 1 sterlina e dava diritto al latte fornito dalla fattoria sul cui terreno si teneva il concerto.
