Nella notte si è svolta la cerimonia di premiazione dei Grammy Awards, giunti alla 63esima edizione. La serata è stata presentata dal comico Trevor Noah in diretta dall’arena Staples Center di Los Angeles in presenza di un pubblico ridotto in ottemperanza delle norme anti-covid.

La serata è stata dominata da Beyoncé, che si è portata a casa ben 4 premi. La cantante ha trionfato nelle categorie Best R&B Performance con Black Parade, Best Rap Performance per Savage feat Megan Thee Stallion, brano con il quale ha vinto anche nella categoria Best Rap Song e Best Music Video per Brown Skin Girl. Con i quattro grammofoni della serata è così diventata la cantanta più premiata della storia, sorpassando la cantante e violinista Alison Krauss, ferma al momento a 27.

Miglior canzone dell’anno è risultata essere I Can’t Breathe di Dernst Emile II, H.E.R. & Tiara Thomas, Album of the Year è risultato essere Folklore di Taylor Swift e Record of the Year è Everything I Wanted di Billie Eilish, che ha vinto anche nella categoria Best Song Written for Visual Media con il brano No Time to Die. Miglior artista emergente invece è Megan Thee Stallion.
