Netflix ha scelto Christopher Landon ( che ha già lavorato a Freaky ed Happy Death Day) per scrivere e dirigere il film We Have a Ghost, che è stato presentato come un lungometraggio d’avventura per famiglie, e che avrà dei protagonisti d’eccezione: stiamo parlando di Anthony Mackie (noto per essere Falcon nel Marvel Cinematic Universe) e David Harbour (il popolare Hopper di Stranger Things).
Ma Anthony Mackie e David Harbour non sono gli unici protagonisti annunciati di We Have a Ghost, considerando che sono stati fatti i nomi anche di Jahi Di’Allo Winston (Charm City Kings), Tig Notaro (Army of the Dead) e Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus).
Al centro della storia c’è Kevin, un personaggio che trova un fantasma chiamato Ernest, che infesta la sua casa. Nel momento in cui Kevin ed Ernest andranno a scavare nei misteri del passato di quest’ultimo, si ritroveranno ad essere bersagliati dalla CIA.
Tra gli altri membri del cast ci saranno anche Erica Ash (Survivor’s Remorse), Isabella Russo (School of Rock the Musical, Crashing), Niles Fitch (This Is Us), Faith Ford (Murphy Brown) e Steve Coulter (Shotgun Wedding).
Christopher Landon scriverà la sceneggiatura basata su un racconto di Geoff Manaugh, intitolato proprio “Ernest.” Dan Halsted farà da produttore assieme a Marty Bowen e Isaac Klausner. I produttori esecutivi del progetto sono Christopher Landon, John Fischer, Geoff Manaugh, Korey Budd e Nathan Miller.
