Sophomore Year (2004-05 At Southern Mississippi): Competed for her second straight year at No. 1 singles…went 14-6 on the season (singles) and 5-4 in tournament play…competed at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots, compiling an overall record of 13-13…she and her partner were 7-8 at the No. 1 doubles position and 4-2 at No. 2 doubles…went 2-3 in doubles tournament play…won 10 straight singles matches from February 6, 2005 until March 16, 2005…in the fall of 2004, posted a 5-4 record in singles and a 2-3 doubles record … played in three tournaments… selected to play in Four Nations Cup in Jersey Island, England…advanced to finals of the Blue Draw doubles with teammate Ali Blackett at the Ole Miss Invitational…advanced to finals of the Flight A singles at the Ragin’ Cajun Open.

High School/Juniors: Prepped at Belmont Academy…ranked in the top two in Scotland…won two European Tennis Association under 16 titles in the U.K. and Germany…won the Cote d’ Azur 18 and under championship…three-year national girls’ tennis championships…six-year regional girls’ tennis championships…ranked seventh in Great Britain and ranked third in Scotland…lettered in volleyball…Volleyball team captain…regional and national volleyball team champions…earned WTA points in both singles and doubles.
Personal: Nicola Slater was born on August 14, 1984…daughter of Angela and Paul Slater … one of five children…states her greatest accomplishment to date is receiving all-conference honors at Southern Mississippi…named to the All-Defense and Offense Team at the USM Flag Football Regional Tournament…held the 100th Queen Jubilee Baton to commence the Commonwealth Games and as a part of that was in the World Guinness Book of Records for the longest relay…majoring in French.[/quote]
