Senior Year (2006-07): Names to 2007 All-ACC Conference team…along with doubles partner Lauren Macfarlane, played at the South Region final and invited to the 2006 Indoor National Championships, the first doubles team or singles player in program history…defeated four players ranked in the top 75 including a 6-3,3-6,6-4 victory over No. 15 Riza Zalamed of UCLA during the second round of the NCAA Tournament…defeated No. 75 Melissa Mang of Duke 7-6, 2-6, 7-5 to help propel the Seminoles to defeat the Blue Devils for the first time since 1983…ranked as high as No. 55 in single and No. 13 in doubles with partner Carolin Walter…defeated five teams ranked in the top 20 of the nation in doubles…won 9-8 against Duke’s No. 5 Bercek/Mang…defeated No. 19 Schnack/Zalameda of UCLA 8-6 at the second round of the NCAA Tournament…completed her senior season with a 20-7 record in doubles.

Junior Year (2005-06): Finished her Junior year with a 12-8 singles record, playing mostly at the No. 3 and No. 4 position…defeated Brito of Clemson who was ranked #113 in the nation…went 7-14 in doubles…one of two transfers on the Florida State women’s tennis team…enrolled at FSU in January of 2006 after a successful two-year career at Southern Mississippi…has a career singles mark of 43-20 (playing at No. 1 singles) and doubles record of 30-27…went 2-1 during the fall…one of five newcomers this season.

Sophomore Year (2004-05 At Southern Mississippi): Competed for her second straight year at No. 1 singles…went 14-6 on the season (singles) and 5-4 in tournament play…competed at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots, compiling an overall record of 13-13…she and her partner were 7-8 at the No. 1 doubles position and 4-2 at No. 2 doubles…went 2-3 in doubles tournament play…won 10 straight singles matches from February 6, 2005 until March 16, 2005…in the fall of 2004, posted a 5-4 record in singles and a 2-3 doubles record … played in three tournaments… selected to play in Four Nations Cup in Jersey Island, England…advanced to finals of the Blue Draw doubles with teammate Ali Blackett at the Ole Miss Invitational…advanced to finals of the Flight A singles at the Ragin’ Cajun Open.

Freshman Year (2003-04 At Southern Mississippi): Finished the season with an overall record of 23-9, including a 17-4 record in the spring, playing at No. 1 singles… first Southern Miss Women’s Tennis player to post 20 wins since the `98-99′ season (Caroline Weems)…posted a 9-8 record with former teammate Katharina Sadofsky at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles…Third Team All-Conference USA…SAAC Athlete of the Week honoree…AD Honor Roll (Spring).

High School/Juniors: Prepped at Belmont Academy…ranked in the top two in Scotland…won two European Tennis Association under 16 titles in the U.K. and Germany…won the Cote d’ Azur 18 and under championship…three-year national girls’ tennis championships…six-year regional girls’ tennis championships…ranked seventh in Great Britain and ranked third in Scotland…lettered in volleyball…Volleyball team captain…regional and national volleyball team champions…earned WTA points in both singles and doubles.

Personal: Nicola Slater was born on August 14, 1984…daughter of Angela and Paul Slater … one of five children…states her greatest accomplishment to date is receiving all-conference honors at Southern Mississippi…named to the All-Defense and Offense Team at the USM Flag Football Regional Tournament…held the 100th Queen Jubilee Baton to commence the Commonwealth Games and as a part of that was in the World Guinness Book of Records for the longest relay…majoring in French.
