Razer produrrà veramente un tostapane dopo che 12 pazzi se ne sono tatuati uno

Cinque anni fa un fan aveva proposto ironicamente al CEO di Razer di produrre un tostapane. Nel tempo la cosa era diventata una inside joke nella community di appassionati dell’azienda specializzata in accessori per il gaming. Un fan particolarmente dedicato alla causa aveva creato una pagina Facebook per promuovere la sua battaglia. Così era nata una scommessa tra Ming-Liang Tan, il N.1 di Razer, e il fan: se raggiungi un milione di like lo faccio veramente “questo fottuto tostapane”.

Nel 2016 Razer aveva lanciato Project BreadWinner “the first gaming grade kitchen appliance built for gamers, by gamers“, ovviamente un Pesce d’Aprile.

 

 

Ma la scommessa si era fatta più interessante, perché Tan aveva deciso di venire incontro alla community di fanatici pro-toaster, dicendo che per ogni persona che si sarebbe tatuata l’immaginario tostapane della Razer avrebbe abbonato 100mila like.

 

 

A rispondere all’appello sono stati in 12, e alla fine il CEO dell’azienda ha dovuto cedere. Il tostapane made by Razer si farà davvero. Anche se ci potrebbe volere un po’ di tempo.

Alright – I didn’t think these guys were going to make it – but they did. It was to hit 1M likes and with each Razer Toaster tattoo being equivalent to 100K likes each….and they now have 12 Razer Toaster tattoos.

Well….what can I say. I’ve just officially liked their page – and I’m going to put together my team of designers and engineers. It will take a few years – but I’ll be sure to share the progress – and make it a community affair.
