A University of Tokyo research team led by professor/computer graphic artist Yoichiro Kawaguchi is developing robots designed to imitate primitive life forms. Mockups have been put on display at a Confucian temple in Tokyo, and working versions of the robots are scheduled for completion in two years.

The close-quarter confines in these images cause the snakes to wrap and overlap amongst each other, creating amazing shapes and patterns of bodies and colors.”

Il risultato non è male.. ma considerando che ci mette 60 secondi a farlo, è ottimo! O_o’
Situato a Norwich, nel Connecticut, lo Slater Memorial Museum è stato fondato nel 1888, e da allora ha continuato ad arricchire le sue collezioni, che spaziano dall’arte precolombiana, alla pittura regionale americana, all’arte orientale. E’ presente una interessante sezione dedicata ai calchi in gesso.
Se volete visitarlo, vi comunico che ahimé il museo è chiuso per manutenzione fino all’autunno 2010.

Il post di Itomi di poco fa m’ha spinto a segnalare a tutti gli interessati la galleria MondoPop (accanto a Piazza del Popolo) a Roma, che si occupa di Toys e d’Arte Pop vinilica, come quella di KAWS, ad esempio. Tra gli artisti che collaborano, degni di nota sono sicuramente Jeremyville e Gary Baseman.
Il video che presento è l’happening che s’è svolto al MADRE, museo di Napoli, il maggio scorso, ma la loro galleria espositiva, dove spesso si svolgono vernissage in diretta e mostre temporanee di arte pop, è sempre aperta a Roma. Se siete appassionati, fateci un salto se passate di là!
