La Post-PC Era è iniziata
KBCB pubblica il suo nuovo studio 2012 Internet Trends: Molto interessante per chi è interessato ad un po’ di dati aggiornati sull’uso di internet e similari.
Mentro lo leggevo una slide in particolare mi ha colpito: L’evoluzione delle quote di mercato dei principali sistemi operativi negli ultimi quaranta anni.
La Post-Pc era è veramente iniziata. Bill e Steve avevano ragione.
In a 1999 op-ed piece for Newsweek, Microsoft’s CEO Bill Gates predicted a landscape he dubbed “PC Plus”, where personal computers would be used alongside devices which would seamlessly synchronize data (such as calendar events, files, e-mails, etc.) from a PC for easier accessibility from where a user would need it.
Nel 2007 Steve Jobs torna sull’argomento, durante in quinto All Things D, forte del recente lancio dell’iPhone, a proposito dei nuovi device “Post-Pc”:
a category of devices that aren’t as general purpose, that are really more focused on specific functions, whether they’re phones or iPods or Zunes or what have you. And I think that category of devices is going to continue to be very innovative and we’re going to see lots of them.
Il tutto si è più che avverato.
Che sia un bene o un male sinceramente non lo so. Per me è un bene: più la tecnologia diventerà semplice da usare e democratica, meno mi sentirò un alieno quando parlo ed interagisco con amici, colleghi e parenti.
Senza contare che sono anni che non formatto un PC ad un amico… #epic
