The Fourth of July is celebrated as America’s birthday and Independence Day, but did you know that July 1 is celebrated as Canada’s Birthday? If you didn’t, now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
Known generally as Canada Day (formally Dominion Day), it celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867 enactment of the British North America Act of 1867. The Act united Canada as a single country of (then)four provinces.
